Rock and Roll Live - You only get once chance...

One of my favorite things to film is a live music performance. There’s so much energy and motion, colors and sounds! The performers putting so much of themselves into their art and the audience soaking it all up.

It can be difficult to film a live performance. Capturing the performer’s musical performance, capturing the energy of the audience and then bringing it all together in the editing room.

One thing that makes filming a live performance easy is having a band that is tight and polished. Luckily for this video I had the pleasure to film Fozzy on their American Tour during a stop in Atlanta, Georgia.

We did a three-camera shoot in the arena.

To capture the energy of the audience I placed two cameras in the back of the venue just above the height of the audience. I then setup my third camera on a hand-held rig to shoot around the stage. I just love the close-ups that getting close to the performer provides.

The energy of Fozzy is amazing and the results really make you feel like you are there in the audience and a part of the concert.
